The Long Night Ahead

After an unusually long weekend, I’m back to work.  It’s been a relatively good day, but a horrible week.  On top of everything else gone wrong, I’m getting sick just in time for the big Easter Trilogy at church.  So on top of sleeplessness, I’m battling my annual sinus infection (which I thought I’d fought off back in February).

It never rains, but it pours.

Lately I can’t seem to get anything to work right.  My work at the church has been subject to several mistakes creeping in, some due to my lack of sleep, but lately just silly, stupid mistakes.  At work, I’ve made some big mistakes, too, including and I’m wondering how much they’ll tolerate.

I’ve often considered my work for the church to be my ministry — supplementing the worship services and the Pastor’s sermons through multimedia.  But now, with all of my mistakes, I wonder how effective that is.  Have I become complacent?  Or have I lost my edge?  Am I no longer as skilled as I once was?  Would they be better off replacing me with someone younger and better?
I’m already drowsy, and I’ve got a truck coming in that I’m going to have to work myself tonight.  Hopefully I can get that done, build the frozen displays and get out of there by quitting time so I can get some sleep.  I don’t think I’ll be staying up too much tomorrow morning.

No you aren’t losing your skill. You’re just tired and need to get better at sleeping. I need to as well. It is affecting my grades. Sickness too, can be caused by a lack of sleep downing your immune system. You’ll get over this down spot. Mrs. Jeana says that life alternates ups for downs. That means we’re bound to be due for an up here pretty soon :-) .

Vague? Me? Okay, so I tend to not disclose very personal information in a public venue. Some details have been chronologically altered, some details omitted, or changed.

Oh, and you’re probably only caught up with the last eight months or so … there’s a reason why this starts with Season Five, and not Season One (that being that I haven’t gotten around to writing out Seasons 1 – 4 yet).
