If I were a superhero . . .
Yesterday I missed the second service because I had to console a friend. She’d been going through a lot and exact circumstances of that particular moment didn’t help. I find that I often take it upon myself to help my friends, or even just those around me. I’ve always been fond of Superman and I guess that’s influenced me. Sure I can’t fly, I don’t have X-Ray vision, and I can’t stop bullets (well, and survive afterwards, that is); but I find it necessary to help — the problem is that I often don’t know how.
I refer back to one of my favorite quotes by Henry David Thoreau, “The most I can do for my friend is be his friend.” It’s just that sometimes that doesn’t seem like it’s enough. I want to stop the world. I want to change things. I want super-human power to make things work like their supposed to.
But I can’t. So I fail.

I would like to be super too… then again, superman wasn’t safe from problems… and he may have been able to move big stuff but that doesnt’ mean he could solve people problems…

You can be Superman… I’ll be Cat Woman. Wanna “fight crime”? Muah ha ha ha ha! ::wink::
