Looking Back
I certainly didn’t mean to be prophetic when I titled the last post “The Coming Storm”. Regardless, the lightning was incredible.
Anyway.
The first part of the Easter Trilogy was yesterday. All three services. Overall it went rather well, with the exception of a few tech glitches on Overhead and with the lights. The evening service still seems a bit surreal, though. I was somewhat light-headed the whole evening (which I attribute to the low-pressure front of the storm, and my lack of sleep) but also because I encountered some people from my past.
The first was a former member of the church with whom my family was friendly. We talked for a bit after the service and he was very impressed by what we’d done and with my contribution (As usual my work is vastly over-rated).
The most surprising, though, was my cousin — the same who was so antagonistic when he and his family moved into my old house almost a year ago (has it really been almost a year already?). The exchange between us was actually well received. He also was impressed by my work with the videos and he even seemed nice.
Could it be that he’s changed? Or is this yet another facade that he’s wearing while in my presence and within the church? I certainly don’t trust him, but things with the family have been patched up so I don’t hold a grudge. I just know how he fooled his mother and our grandparents when later, in private, I’d see him smoking, drinking, and cursing quite profoundly. He’s cunning; capable of almost anything.

You can accept that a matter with someone is settled while still being wary. I don’t think you work is over-rated, but perhaps, underpraised.
