The Long Road to Here

I’ve been thinking a lot lately on things.  The events and decisions, both good and bad, that have led me to this point in my life.  I’ve been thinking about what the future holds.  I’ve been thinking about a great many things.  Even as friends of mine set off on their own adventures of life, confident in their futures, I realize that my own is still cloudy.

I think I know what must end up doing, what I must become.  But as the popular phrase goes: “You can’t get there from here.”  I don’t know the path, and while I’ve been asking for directions, they’re still a bit vague.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
