Happy Birthday?
This isn’t intended to displace the previous post, since I’m still soliciting suggestions for a proper topic. However, this was too weird to not jot down:
As I was clocking out for break at work tonight (this morning, today, whatever your chronological orientation) the time clock LCD display responded: “Ring Accepted *** Happy Birthday *** Press Read for more information.” Well, there is no ‘read’ button on the timeclock, not even a menu. And to make things even more confusing, it’s not even my birthday yet!
So that leaves two possibilities: the time clock system is, in typical fashion for my employer, screwed up. Or somewhere in the system birthdays are tied into the schedule information. So it thinks that today is my birthday due to bad data. This is probably more likely, however, the rules say we’re supposed to get our Birthdays off from work. I’m schedule to work this week until Thursday. So even though it’s not really my birthday, I’m rather upset that I’ve still got to work. Today of all days, on my Un-Birthday. Unbelievable!

How dare they! Maybe the time clock just realizes that time, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, is more like a big ball of wibbely-wobbely, timey-wimey…. stuff.
It got away from me, yeah…

Do you fancy a spot of tea for your Un-Birthday? Maybe we should have tea more often. Better for you, I think.

Tea instead of Coffee? Hrm. Maybe something to try.
