Easter Trilogy 2008: Week One

I stayed out far too late last night.  Granted, it was fun.  It was worth it.  But with the church starting the annual Easter Trilogy — a three week service that depicts the life, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus leading up to Easter — things are awfully busy.  The good news, though, is that this first week I don’t have much at all to do.  This first week I’m just videotaping the services.

So my plan is to tape the two morning services from different angles, and then — since I asked off of work to attend the aforementioned party on Saturday night — I’ll skip the evening service in order to sleep for work tonight.

Through all this I’m a bit disappointed.  I miss having something important to do, but I’m also relieved that I won’t be dead at work tonight. It feels like this job of mine has adversely affected my volunteerism here at the church.

I still haven’t made a final decision on the Nerd thing.  I’ve outlined the steps I need to take if I accept the invitation, but I still don’t know if it’s the right thing to do.  What if this is like some of the other (somewhat expensive) ventures I’ve undertaken in recent years, where I haven’t been able to keep up with the requirements … requirements of time, of interest, of money.

What if?

There.  There’s your update.

I am glad you stayed out, too. It was so much fun. But I am exceedingly relieved it is over.

Don’t sound so surprised … that copyright post was very informative.

The copyright post was nice, but I had nothing to say.

    Boil! Boil!
But put some salt in the water first. I think it makes the pasta stick less or makes it boil faster or something. There is a trick in there somewhere…

  6. Ryan Says:

Salt raises the boiling point of water. Adding oil to the water doesn’t make the pasta stick less, but it cuts down on the surface tension of the water so as the starch leaches out from the pasta it doesn’t make a nasty, foamy mess.

    Thank you, Food Network.

    Wow…. You’re weird. Anyway, boil!
