I’ve Been Served. Again.

The state of Tennessee has summoned me to

…personally appear before a Judge of the Circuit Court of Rutherford County at 9:00 am on the 12-14 day of January, 2008. There to speak the truth in behalf of the State of Tennessee in a certain suit now pending in said court where the State of Tennessee is the plaintiff and [my former roommate] is the Defendant.

Certain edits aside, that’s basically what I’ve just been served with. Note how the state apparently wants me to travel back in time to the beginning of the year for this trial, instead of just waiting a month until January 2009.

I wonder if this means I don’t have to go after all, since I’ve obviously missed it. Or … does that mean that I’m now guilty of failing to comply with the subpoena and can be in contempt of court, punishable by fine and up to 10 days in jail.

Nuts.

Well, time to call the Doctor.
Hey actually… That isn’t a bad idea! When he gets there, make sure you tell him to come pick me up next.

But of course! You think I’d go romping about time and space in a big blue box without you?
