Tales of the Fedora

For a few weeks now I’ve been testing the release candidate of Windows 7 x64. So far the only issues I’ve run into involve my Canon HV30 camera. The camera spontaneously disappeared from the Cineform software I use to capture the HDV footage from tape.

After doing some searching and testing I finally found the clue at www.hv20.com. The trick is to go to the device manager and change the FireWire driver to the legacy version.

I have no idea why it worked for two weeks before and suddenly stopped, but making that change restored the HDV capture mode.
